"A little Bit of Elvis from Scotland"

About 17 years ago my mother started doing our family tree. Very interesting at the time, but i still remember the day she said she had found a relative from Lonmay named Presley and joked about being related to Elvis.

Several years past until one day on the news there was a story about a guy in America that had traced back Elvis Presley's roots to an Andrew Presly of Lonmay in Scotland. My mother wasted no time in double checking her results and confirming we were descendant of the very same Andrew Presly. Imagine her delight as she has been a life long Elvis fan.

Andrew Presly had 2 sons, one of which immigrated to America (Andrew), the other stayed in Scotland (James). The spelling of Presly did change in America to Presley. I will post a family tree showing the link.

The local press got hold of the story and run an article about us and even the national press showed an interest..

This gallery is for the memories and meticulous research my mother has put into our family tree..
