Griffith Park, Sunday Afternoon...

The sounds of musicians. The smell of petulie oil, incense and weed. Pissed off cops. Shady characters. Acquaintances, good friends and lovers. People so high on 2-Way Orange Sunshine with speed in it that they presented a problem for the air traffic controllers at Los Angeles International Airport. What more could a long haired hippie photographer dream of? Did I mention the smell of weed?

Great pics. My Mom, now 65 years young, used to take me to these events. I was about 5 or six at the time. We both enjoyed the photos. Thanks for sharing them.- Valerie

Yup, I would say you right, it's reversed, good eye. LAPD hanging outside the station wagon for sure. I would love to see your park pics, how do we make that happen?

Nice shoot. Really captured the feel of Griffith Park in the late 60's (every Sunday by the Maeery-Go-Round if memory serves me. The first photo of the four LAPD Officers must be reversed, as the badges are on the opposite side? (right instead of left).

Q: The guy hanging outside the station wagon looking back, was that an LAPD Officer too?

hey those were the days of the griffith park love-ins...hey i was working with green power back then providing the food for the freex in the park....

Nice gallery: it reminds me of "love-ins" held in Seattle in 1967 or 1968. Peace. Love. Flower power. Make love, not war. Groovy. Far out. Bummer (about the fuzz). Be cool. Our parents didn't understand. Some of us didn't either.
