• Nikko is famous for the mausoleums of the Shogun Tokugawa Ieyasu and it's the carvings of the 3 Wise Monkeys which get visitors all worked up.
• Foodies note that Nikko is famous for their yuba, the skin formed when making tofu. Trust me, it's tasty.
• Blue tarps along the river are the shelters of the Tokyo homeless.
• Kegon Falls are stunning. Very fine and partly hidden by summer lush foliage.
• Ginza - the most expensive real estate in Japan and there were reasonably priced restaurants! That sashimi dish with grilled turban shell was $18 with tax and tips.
