• Abbott's in Noank, Connecticut - lobster, seafood in the rough. Go for the Hot Lobster Roll - in a class of its own. The chowda is also superb. Steamers? OK.
• Check out that Stuffie (Stuffed Clam Quahog) at Flo's; it comes with the red rubber band. 1st choice: Fried Clams.
• Newport - Old town with history from the Revolutionary War with Jean-Baptiste de Rochambeau and General George Washington defending Newport, Rhode Island from the Brits. This Revolutionary Route started the Long March at Newport and ended in Yorktown, Virginia with the defeat of the British General Charles Cornwallis in 1781.
• Newport also is famous for the historic huge mansions along the Cliff Walk coastline.
