• Kunming enjoys springlike weather and is the capital city of Yunnan Province and is known as the "City iof Eternal Spring." Located in the southwest corner of China, Kunming is ideal for growing flowers and plants all year round and was a gateway to the Silk Road between neighboring Tibet, Sichuan, Burma, and India.
• Famous for her minority groups and their culture, Yunnan is also home to the stunning Stone Forest, vast karst formations considered one of the original wonders of the world. Please see next gallery, China (17), for Stone Forest images.
• Kunming is historic in World War 2 and my father was stationed here with the 14th Air Force.
