On Saturday evening, we gathered at a crane pool along the road leading
into the refuge, where we had seen a bunch of cranes the night before. This
was our chosen spot for birds returning to the water for the night.

This crane is settling in along the far shoreline. The wind was blowing in
his face so that all he needed to do to stop was coast in, stall and drop.
