Colaptes auratus
Some of the male Flickers we see have markings that combine those for both Red- and Yellow-shafted races
of the Northern Flicker. They have a red mustache and a red chevron-shaped patch of feathers
on the backs of their heads. These are presumably crosses (intergrades) between the two races.
