SCARRING

Work towards a new project, in its very early infancy right now, but hopefully to be developed into an idea for a PhD proposal.
I am working on scarred bodies, memory and traces, what's left after accidents, operations, self-harm...
Looking at line and form.
Skin - literal and metaphorical.
Finding scars in nature and elsewhere.
Searching for the meaning of the abjection about the abjection, because no one else seems willing to speak.
Self-harm in particular can be described as doublY invisible, and doubly abjected.

"There is something beautiful about scars, whatever nature.
A scar means the hurt is over, the wound is closed and healed. Done with."
