thanks again, Agnes. i got to know a group of H'mong girls very well while i was there. i wasn't with a group, or on a tour, which really allowed me to get to know the people as individuals. as a lone traveller i gained a lot of trust from the girls. a couple in particular. they took me to lunch with the H'mong people, to their rooms in Sapa, places where the tourists don't get to go, places that are out of the public eye, real parts of their private lives. we went for walks, i helped them write e-mails, they made films on my little compact camera. i guess it helps when taking portraits of people, when you understand something about who they are and what they feel.

Nice portraite, with all the rules, what a photographer need to follow..would be great to teach others, how to take a perfect portraite :)...The title fits also perfectly..she look so proud of herself..of that from where she came, and of her all life...This is strange for me,cuz those small cultures dont use to feel this comfortable in fromt of the camrea..and dont even use to show their emotion this pure and honest way...U are so lucky to catch this!
