This Madill 046 Slackline Yarder was working in the upper Toutle River 'high country' in April, 1980 as Mt. St. Helens steams in the background.
Only one month later, on May 18, 1980- that mountain exploded and devastated the area where this yarder had been working as seen here.
The logging had finished, and she was moved out before the explosion, and survives even today (2011) at a Chehalis, Washington location.
The machine was then owned by Weyerhaeuser at Longview, Washington and operated out of thier 'Camp Baker' as Yarder #246.
