Glebe Tram Shed in HDR

This gallery contains images from the disused Glebe Tram Shed. Was a maintenance depot until trams were pulled out of service in Sydney in the early 1960s and replaced by buses.

This location will be demolished and replaced by a modern residential high rise development taking in the adjacent race track area.

Until then a popular location for street art. Ahh the smell of evaporating solvent !!!

Update 14-Oct-2012: This building is not demolished but is now planned as a focus for this development.
A large residential development will be built on the site of the race track & grounds. Many a mug punter has walked away empty handed from a misinformed tip from this site. I hope this does not happen to the people who buy off the plan for this site.

Update 6-Nov-2016
Well all completed as far as the refurb on this building. Not bad by the way. Great eating and meeting spot especially if living close by. I looked at the narrow gap between the wall and the excavated rock where I had to go in originally and still there but the windows have now gone. The roof has been repaired and no longer leaks. There is still a small amount of street art that was not painted over. I guess the developer had some compassion for when the building was "rescued" from neglect when the project started.
