Stopped off in Tokyo for a mere 48 hrs for a meeting and some socializing with Xbox Japan. A few hours to shop for camera gear and gifts for the family was all we had time for.
On the way to the Xbox offices
Lobby of Xbox Japan
Custom Xbox 360 faceplates
Alfred amidst the bustle of Shinjuku station
Yours truly amongst the crowd on the sidewalk outside Shjnjuku's West exit
Bic Camera's Nikon stand
Lenses at Yodabashi
One of my versions of heaven - 1/18 scale diecast cars from Kyosho and AutoArt
Multi-level toy store in Shinjuku
So we booked dinner for 16 people, but only 5 showed up on time...the restaurant refused to deviate and proceeded to serve 16!
Needless to say the 5 of us that were early ate VERY well!
Veggies for shabu shabu
Steaming noodles
Hailing service staff by remote control
The prototypical after dinner smoke
A narrow alleyway full of shops and restaurants...
...like this teeny tiny one
Homeless 1
Homeless 2
Just an experiment with long exposures removing people from crowded streets
A "woman" handing out ads
A quick stop for a drink - custom chipped ice that fits the glass perfectly
So sad, my quest to eat at every Din Tai Fun in the world...
...was stopped short when the Takashimaya location wasn't going to open for lunch before we had to leave
