We were down in CA visiting friends in San Jacinto and we visited the Orange Empire Railway Museum in Perris - http://www.oerm.org/ . They showcased a great variety of rail cars ranging from street cars and passenger trains dating from as far back as the 1800s as well as the kids' favorite, a small garden planted full of interactive train signals.
