May 31, 2006 - In Search of Beijing's Din Tai Fung

Continuing my quest to eat at every Din Tai Fung in the world, we managed to eat at the Beijing location. Faced with only one dinner in Beijing, we decided to squeeze in Peking Duck *AND* Din Tai Fung into the same evening!

At the Din Tai Fung we tried to purchase some of their china along with their logo'd chopsticks to no avail. I'll have to try again the next time I'm in Beijing. The chopsticks would have been a pretty cool (and easy to transport back to the US) souvenir and none of the other DTF's have had the customized chopsticks yet.

Construction for the 2008 Beijing Olympics is well under way. We passed by the "exoskeleton stadium" but I wasn't quick enough with my camera so I only caught a passing glimpse from way far away. Pretty impressive the number of cranes in the city!
