Tsukiji Fish Market

This is the largest fish market in the world. It is a hectic and very busy place that is so interesting to explore.
They sell wholesale to local sushi bars and other restaurants. Tuna (maguro) auctions start at 5 a.m. and are
over before most people wake up. Some tuna can fetch near $200,000, so this is an important and spectacular
event. Unfortunately, the auctions became so popular with tourists that they are now partly restricted to the public.
If you plan to go, make sure to find the latest information because it is possible that you will not be able to see the auctions.
