Swimming under

view map

At Kiholo Bay, fresh cold water from the surrouding lava fields makes its way into the warm salt water of the bay, forming two layers that give it a characteristic opalescence. Here, the flow of fresh water from the surrounding lava shelves can be seen from the turbidity in the upper layers. A number of fish are swimming in these shallow areas.
