Coverting Color

Milford Sound, NZ

This month’s issue of Layers Magazine has an article about using the Duotone/Tritone/Quadtone feature in Photoshop to convert color images. I’ve been practicing this morning.

The scene is from the fantail of a boat in Milford Sound taken last year during my delightful tour there with Bev Scott.

Below is the original in color.

Nice work. I think the original is particularly attractive.

Like the playful results. Personally prefer the more black.

Wonderful how the mood changes in all 3. Love this very much but my favorite is the upper right hand one! Beautiful!

Well done, I think I like the right upper for it's contrast on the water. I must say I like all three.

Well done, Robin. I read the article but haven't practiced yet. I like the one on the right most.

Nice work Robin. Personally I love working in duotones as opposed to just B&W. The richness of the images is always brilliant.
