Day IV – Padders reach timberline!

Northeast of Silverton, CO

We started the day photographing the narrow gauge railroad train departing Durango and then roughly followed its path to Silverton.

After we got Bandito out of jail in Silverton, we drove up a four-wheel drive road to this vista at timberline (11,500 feet) north of Silverton.

For more views, some quite breathtaking, see the new additions to my **my trip gallery.**

I'll never forget watching you get tossed around the back seat with those "red devils" flying everywhere and the noises you were making. Such a great memory for me!

Higher than we made it on Shasta - why didn't we think to 4-wheel it???

Higher and higher

This was truly a surprise day, and what a find this was, eh? I had so damn much fun driving that 4-wheeler up the side of those mountainsides, and I only almost got us killed twice! That's pretty good, right? At least you guys bailed me out of jail, so I could make a clean break from the law!

I was afraid you had spent so much time on the painting in Ouray that you would not have time to post a PaD. Sounds like you are all having a wonderful time.

Bandito was jailed for standing under the mustache sign! ;-)

Perhaps we can all chip in via Paypal to spring you varmints
when the posse catches up.

A target rich environment for Padders, that's for sure! Why did you bail Bandito out?
