The Authors

Santa Fe, NM

We spent a varied day which started with a drive up to the ski area East of Santa Fe so Rennie could do a little training for a hike/bike ride. Then we ate lunch downtown in a lovely patio restaurant enjoying the warmth of the sunshine softened by a gentle breeze. In many ways I have enjoyed the al fresco dining here more than anything else.

Then we did some touring around town including a spin around the Plaza, a visit to Museum Hill and then two commercial galleries. At all these locations I was charmed by the metal sculptures, and felt quite fortunate to have my picture taken with Mark Twain.

And speaking of that, tomorrow I am off to Taos for a day, then north to Colorado Springs which will be my primary area of residence for the summer.

be complete?

Astounding resemblance. When you get home you'll have to PS your face onto Sam's.

And you two make a lovely pair of authors. "You show me yours, and I'll show you mine!" he seems to be saying.

I am so glad you had a chat with Mark Twain--did he tell you how much he loved the Mississippi River. In all that sun how do you mention to stay so fair?
Dan Chusid29-Jun-2005 22:53
