May 5: Cinco de Mayo

Rancho Bernardo, CA

Here in the Southwest lots of folks celebrate ***Cinco de Mayo*** which is an important Mexican holiday. I’ve never quite understood why it should be a big deal in the US. I suspect it is primarily a great opportunity to drink margaritas and to party.

This image captures my passive enthusiasm for the event. ;-)

Don't get to excited

I suspect it's important in the U.S. because of the large population of Mexican immigrants. Like the blanket, Robin. Looks like you were racing to get into position before the shutter snapped.

This conjures up images of bullfights and toreadors in Barcelona.

Thank you! I don't understand it either...do they celebrate the 4th of July in Mexico? Love your expression.

LOl at your 'passive enthusiasm' Can I use that phrase sometime???
That's a great blanket and I like your lighting. Not too much, not too little.

Ever heard the joke about the ship full of mayonnaise................ and it got hit by a big storm and the headlines read "Storms Sinks da Mayo"

Wake up and have a drink!
When in Rome, do as the Roman's do,
When in California, Do as the Mexican's do!

Nice SP.

You look like an invalid here Robin.
Reminds me of the old joke: Do they have a 4th of July in Mexico?

You are too funny! Cinco de Mayo, I heard on the radio this morning, was made up by the U. S. as a way of promoting (as usual) all things Mexican such as food, drinks etc. Wasting away again in Marguerittaville............
