The Lake

Rancho Bernardo, CA

Lake Reid
All of the State (indeed much of the country) has been under a heavy onslaught from winter rains. Here in Southern California it is beginning to clear with a prediction of 65 F temperature and full sun starting Wednesday!

Lake Reid pictured here is one of many puddles in my rain-soaked backyard. No big deal I know, but it is so rare to have standing water that I decided to catch the shot with the thundercloud reflected.

Nice to peak in on life in southern California. We get plenty of rain and floods here, or here abouts anyway that it's entirely usual. So it's funny to see it be a big deal. We've had gray skies and fog for about two weeks. Not really typical, well the gray skies are...

Pretty cool. Now multiply this by about 15 and you have Poway High!

It also took me a couple of minutes to figure out that it is a puddle, not a real lake. Wonderful shot; terrific cloud.

Beautiful reflection Robin... what a gorgeous sky. That curve dividing water from grass is fantastic... leads your eye right through the image. Nice sharp colors and contrast. Bravo!

You had me fooled, I really thought it was a beautiful lake. Well done, Robin. So glad you are going to get a break....it has been terrible for your area. Glad you are safe.

Hey, I think I heard fishing ...?? Fab color contrasts and you got a gret crop. Stay dry, safe, and warm.
Guest 12-Jan-2005 02:37
Robin? If you'd stop showing off your headstands, you might be able to take a normal picture like the rest of us.

This is a puddle in your yard? I thought it was a lake somewhere.
Cliff12-Jan-2005 01:00
Yep - be over with the motor boat and water skis!
This is actually such a pleasant image you've made with this puddle in your yard Robin. Ingenious!
Guest 12-Jan-2005 00:47
Fantastic! The first thing I noticed was the great composition. Good eye :)
Guest 12-Jan-2005 00:34
Nice . . . I'll be right over with my fishing rod! I'm so glad the rains are lifting up - I'm kinda sick of getting rained on at school.

Great reflection in this photo - I've found it kinda difficult to do this right; you done good!

I love your reflection, Robin. I've been watching that amazing weather. I hope that at least it will help with the drought.

That cloud looks like the sta-puff marshmallow guy... like he's peeking over the edge and looking into his reflection.. very cool shot
