108 years ago this event started as a meeting of all the local towns folk, farmers and ranchers. Joe Pentero, a local farmer growing strawberries, would deliver 2 pales of them to each local business to prepare. Dairies would bring freah heavy cream to spoon over the fresh berries. A long table would be set up down the main street in town and everyone would come together to share stories and celebrate together. This story was imparted to me by one of my favorite local woman who was born, raised and has continued to be a part of each of our lives for the last 82 years. Thanks Mom....

Each year the celebration has continued and grown and changed along with our community.
