Eerie - seemingly floating shade, barely perceptible pole, missing chain in tall lamp shadow, missing lamp in short lamp shadow, full bobesche, half bobesche. Now you see it, now you don't: cross current shadows, slashing left, center and right; unmanageable forms below, rising, dipping, rising, then seamlessly merged. One apparent clarity: slubbed textured shade rimmed top and bottom in grosgrain ribbon.
