Remarkable image, as though the lily is treading water or executing dance steps on multiple ballet-shod feet (really stamens and anthers). This vibrant orange lily sports dark freckled spots on curved foreground petals. A bud in the background is luminous with gradient tones shading from pale peach to deep reddish brown. The entirety combines softness and sharpness, light and dark, tones of orange and wispy tones of green for a painting effect.
