This was my first time attending what my Australian pals would call a gathering of "hoons" (what we Yanks call "piston-heads"). Conspicuous consumption and deification of steel, rubber, carbon fiber, aluminum, chromium and fiberglass at its extreme. I went, mostly as an excuse to shoot some images, to accompany a couple pals whose wives HATE this sort of thing. I found it a bit boring, but had a blast driving the racecar simulator (dirt track around the Grand Canyon) at the Subaru exhibit.
Just a bit of a tip I discovered: since the larger halls were illuminated with overhead xenon arc lamps, I got the best baseline color correction in those situations by using the flash profile (a camera flash uses xenon; the color emission will be in the same ballpark...)
