One of my favorite edibles (cultivated as the "pom-pom" mushroom).

I was walking to mail a letter and saw this lying on the ground less than 50 yards from my house... must have fallen off a tree.

talk about doing a double take... the day after Thanksgiving, to boot! No joke...

My wife and I ate it as a dinner appetizer! Talk about eating "road kill..." ;-)
