Adjustment method test

My general "RGB" LEVELS adjustments for viewing & print, as well as seperate RED, GREEN, BLUE LEVELS & AUTOLEVELS with:

UnSharpMask 800% (500% + 300%) @ 0.2 Radius & zero threshhold.

Resized @ 720x540 for the web as well as the resized original & Raw full size original. So you can play with it or just vote for the best one...LOL...

To get to Manual levels in Elements: go to the "ENHANCE" menu, then to "Brightness/Contrast", then to "Levels": Adjust 3 triangular sliders underneath the histogram, if there's open space between the corners to the ends of the graph by dragging the left &/Or right slider in from the corners till they meet the black ends of the histogram diagram. Then if needed, slide the center slider left to brighten highlights or right to darken. The exact same method can also be done in PhotoShop(5.5) from the "IMAGE" menu, to "ADJUST" then "LEVELS"

To access UnSharpMask in both Elements & PhotoShop(5.5) after levels & all other adjustments & resizing:
Go to "FILTERS" menu, then "Sharpen", then "UnSharpMask".

Set values as stated for Radius 0.2 & thrshold 0 {Zero}

EXAMPLE: UnSharpMask 800% (500% + 300%) @ 0.2 Radius & zero {0} threshhold.

When shootin "Soft" in-camera sharpness 500% is often the starting point & rarely enough alone. Then check & uncheck "Preview" to see result & reaply as needed, changing the percentage as needed.

The last two "Extreme" examples on second page were adjusted using the method above & may be OK resized for webview but will require more extensive measures beyond me as well as some form of noise reduction to be printable..IMHO...

PS: Shooting in "SOFT" sharpness (in-camera) setting will adjust best in software. Normal & hard fall apart & show artifacts sooner,especially after cropping.
