Jill is a great puzzle solver. When we heard the "Wheel of Fortune" television show was having auditions nearby we decided to give it a try. The crowd turn-out was as we expected - HUGE. Out of about 10,000 hopeful attentees only 90 people, drawn by lottery, got to go on stage. Neither Jill or I were called to compete. They tell us our applications will be on file and we may be called for an audition within a few months. Heck, within a few months we will be cruising in the tropical Exumas with no thoughts of being on television. While at the audition, we did meet many interesting people. One high-spirited woman needs knee replacement surgery. She is a devout 'Wheel-Watcher'. She said she just could not stay away when she heard try-outs were near her home. Another woman has been diagnosed with cancer. Her life-long wish was to compete on 'Wheel'; her favorite TV show. She did get to audition on stage. I felt she did very well. Judging by all of the damp eyes in the audience, everyone is hoping that she will be selected for the real show, soon. |
