Telfords Suspension Bridge

North Wales

Crossing the Menai Straits joining the mainland of North Wales to Angelsey.
This is on the main route between London and Holyhead for the ferry to Ireland which is why the bridge was built.
Thomas Telford a Scot from Dumfries 1757-1834 was responsible for the building of the bridge, the largest single span bridge in the world at the time.
It took from 1819-1824 to complete just the stonework, the bridge was completed 30th Jan 1826.
Note the cemetery toward the left of the picture.

The f16 has worked very well, composition is good with enough foreground to balance. Nice and sharp but a little noise in the sky with the 1600 ISO but that is only a nit. Well done........Jess
