I am working for the Communication department of the World Customs Organization (WCO) and I am writing to enquire about the use of your photos of Rhinos.
The WCO is an intergovernmental Organization based in Brussels, Belgium. It sets international standards in the field of Customs and provides Customs capacity building for its 177 Member Countries around the world.
In an effort to contribute to the protection of wildlife, the WCO, sponsored by the Government of Sweden, launched Project GAPIN in 2010 with a view to assist a selected number of WCO Member Customs administrations from Africa in the fight against the illicit trafficking in wildlife in particular great apes - protected by the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES). The project also focused on integrity. The name GAPIN is a contraction of Great Apes and Integrity.
Given the results of Project GAPIN, the Government of Sweden decided to continue sponsoring this initiative with a new project called GAPIN II that will focus on a larger variety of endangered species (rhinoceros, elephants, pangolin and great apes).
As part of this project, we are currently working on an awareness raising campaign which will target both Customs and passengers and economic operators at selected land border crossings, airports and maritime ports.
I am writing to enquire whether the photo displayed in your pdbase gallery could be used to design a poster which will also display some ivory seizures made by Customs. The photo itself will not be modified but integrated into a poster.
