Mia was another popular independent model I had the good fortune of shooting several years ago.
She was very quiet, but very radiant, as you might see. I almost missed the opportunity when she was making a midwest tour, but when she decided to stay (because of the demand) one more week, I was able to work with her for a few hours. Please let me know what you think.
Thanks,
Rory
I think my shutter speed was about 1/30 sec. I was shooting reflected available light from a window, so we had some moodiness, and well frankly, I was trying to exploit her eyes as much as possible.
When shooting in a motel, I choose to crop tightly, which means that up close, naturally, depth of focus becomes an issue.
I'm strictly film, almost never use strobes. When I do light, I favor subdued, but have done some stuff higher key with two lights (reflector bulbs made in the stone ages).
I realize I have a better chance with focus keeping eyes and body on the same plane, but Mia's eyes screamed at me to attempt to inject a romantic feel.
Thanks for the comment. I have a feeling that either way, Mia would project grace and beauty.
