Docked in Sitka at 10. Russia transferred AK to U.S. here. Russian Bishop's House from 1842 has been nicely preserved
Short shuttle ride got us downtown. I loved the many islets in the water. Saw Rockwell "lighthouse" (rental property).
Pioneer Home was built in 1934 for seniors. Like everything else in Sitka, it looks beautiful.
At noon we went to see some nature with Captain Gary's Adventures (great)! This is Gary's boat Blue Dawg and mate Niko).
We shared the boat with a nice German couple from our ship. We saw nature, scenery, and people at work (on Memorial Day)!
We saw some sea lions lounging on a buoy.
This bull looked like he was enjoying being king of the castle.
After spending hours watching AEF's DC Eagle webcam, I was thrilled to see a real eagle close up.
And I was thrilled to get this action shot.
Such a beautiful place!
Gary told us about the amazing amount of boat/marina space in Sitka.
Saw some kayakers. (Go to next page)
