 We drove south of Carmel so Ruth could tour the lighthouse she had missed several years ago while in Big Sur. |
 A cool Big Sur type bus passed, but no tour guide came. Finally someone waved down a park ranger to ask what was up. |
 About 15 of us waited for an hour before we finally got bad news: Volunteers for the lighthouse had not shown up; no tour! |
 This was the 2nd time I was shut out. Several yrs ago, I was 5 minutes too late when I found the mtg point (farm gate). |
 As a consolation prize for missing Point Sur, I made a brief stop at the tiny Point Montara light. |
 2nd consolation prize: A visit to Pt. Pinos, Pacific Grove near Monterey. At least I was finally able to take a nice picture. |
 We revisited the photogenic Pigeon Point light near Pescadero. Howard waited patiently while I photographed yet ANOTHER light! |
