On September 7, Howard celebrated a birthday. I photoshopped him a little picture of Allie and Joey playing poker....
And made him a burger cake.

My garden is coming along....
Hydrangeas, impatiens, coneflowers and hosta in this picture. Other side (not shown)is mainly salvia, bearded irises (spring), then obedient plant in late summer. Just planted some tall phlox for next summer in left box and pink coreopsis in right box.
Howard has a baby....not sure of the weight and length, but it's BIG!!
Our friend Mike Nolan, of Nolan's Quality Cars in Salisbury, helped him get a great deal on a two year old Acura. Before being adopted by Howard, it was residing in a huge car auction site in Mannheim, PA, waiting for a new owner.

Walkin' the dog, just a walkin' the dog....
Ruth continued to walk dogs for Terrapin Pets, and even took care of a cat or two! I love hanging out with fine four legged friends!

I went to Historic St. Mary's City. This is the beautifully restored chapel, which was opened a few weeks after I was there.
History was made in Maryland in 1634. The nearly 150 English settlers who arrived at what is now St. Mary’s City aboard the Ark and the Dove established far more than simply the fourth permanent English colony in North America. They forged what would become known as the birthplace of religious freedom in America. From its beginning Maryland practiced a very liberal policy concerning religious activities.
In 1704 the Governor ordered the chapel locked, ending the colony's experiment in religious freedom.
