Little Blue Heron. Never saw one anywhere near my yard before. These are wetland birds, but the wetlands in the Tampa area are disappearing during this very dry season. Traditional wetlands like Lettuce Lake Park are very dry. In many places you can walk across the Hillsborough River without even getting your feet wet. It's almost getting to the point that a hurricane would almost be welcome. That's how dry and hard up for rain this area is. I'm sure this Heron would welcome anything nature could throw at it.
