THE Odonate of Louisiana Damselflies

This gallery contains images of Damselflies that were taken in South Louisiana. I made it a personal project to photograph as many Damselflies as possible. They are one of the most difficult insects to photograph because of their small size, mostly less than an inch in length, and the fact that they mainly perch on very small blades of grass which move with the slightest breeze. If you wish to get good shots they must be photographed early in the morning which is always a low light situation. Most of these shots were taken with a shutter speed of around 1 second. These are my best efforts to date and I hope you enjoy viewing them. Please click on "ORIGINAL SIZE" when viewing any of my images, thanks.
