Marguerite Falls

Marguerite Falls is a 60' cascading waterfall in southern Greene County, Tennessee. It can be reached by an 1.3 mile trail that rises a little less than 1,000 vertical feet. Dry Creek originates above the falls.

Three back-country rescues have been executed by the Greeneville Emergency & Rescue Squad and dozens of volunteers from each of Greene County's Volunteer Fire Departments, along with other agencies. The hikers who climbed to the top or on the falls and were swept over the edge. All of them survived. One was airlifted directly from the base of the falls. Two others were carried down the trail to an awaiting ambulance, then transferred to a waiting helicopter for evacuation.

Images and stories of those rescues can be found in the first three galleries below.
