Hi Ron , John from lexington south carolina, I hiked this trail back on Feb 23rd and got to this point in your photo and had a real gut check, I trudged on but kept telling myself how insane this was with nothing to hold on too,thank God I made it through but a few times my feet plunged through the snowpack up past my knees and I am over 6 ft 1 inch tall. The snow depth that day was 32 inches at the lodge according to Doug McFalls and I know it had to be over 2 feet deep here.
