Welcome to Eagle Valley Photography, the online photo galleries of Ron Horn. I live in Haines, Alaska, in the Chilkat River Valley, which is known as the valley of the eagles. Several hundred bald eagles live here year round, but each fall, thousands of bald eagles come to this valley to feed on a late run of salmon. Between October and February, almost 3,500 eagles congregate in the Chilkat Valley, with the numbers usually peaking in November. This is the largest gathering of bald eagles in the world. Haines is located 80 air miles north of Juneau along the pristine shores of America's longest fjord, Lynn Canal.
