I spent 3 days birding Adak Island and then 3 more days aboard the Puk - Uk in the Bering sea between Adak and Dutch Harbor. Just like being on the Deadliest Catch. This was without a doubt the best pelagic trip I have ever been on. The weather was a bit of a problem and we had to seek shelter for 12 hours in a cove off Seguam Island. This caused several of us to miss our flights but the extra day of birding was worth it. I saw thousands of Whiskered Auklets and at least 7 Short-tailed Albatross. While conditions for photography weren't always good I managed a few identifiable shots of most species seen. I picked up seven photo list birds including the 2 lifers. Pacific Wren, Arctic Loon, Ancient Murrelet, Hawfinch, Whiskered Auklet, Short-tailed Shearwater and Short-tailed Albatross. If you want an adventure I highly reccomend this trip.
