I was ready for defeat and return home, but I saw some color in the sunset in my rear-view-mirror.
These mountains are 22 miles to the west-the Promontory Range,
the area where the railroads were connectd from the east and the west by the famous "Golden Spike."
The colors were more brilliant than I've captured here.
