I've driven across this bridge for over 5 years now. I've seen this small lake all but completely dry. The past few weeks I have noticed a lot of people fishing from the bridge. It's not unusual to see a car or two off the road down by the lake, but a few days ago I bet there were close to 10 or people on each side of this bridge! Maybe they stocked it? Maybe just seeing a few folks has attracted a lot of attention and the lemmings come out of the woodwork. "there must be fish in that lake, there were people all over that bridge fishing" now 10 more show up. I don't care, but the more people on that bridge, cars start to slow down because drivers start getting accident is bound to happen.

I want my DSLR back........

Seems like a road hazard. I've seen people do this in Florida but not in the mid-west..

I don't blame you, but sometimes it's useful to have to "make do" when we don't have our preferred hardware. Hones our skills a little, increases our flexibility. I recall one time that my 24-105 was out of service and I did a several hour shoot with just the 50mm prime. I'm not in a hurry to do it again, but not sorry that I did it.
I take your point about the fishing; without a clearly defined and separated pedestrian way that's a crazy risk to take for a chance of a catfish (or whatever might be down there). Even a barramundi wouldn't be worth that!
