Biggin Hill Air Show: 27-28 June 2009

Photos taken from our roof terrace on Saturday, and from the airfield on Sunday. This year marked the return of the Vulcan after an absence of 17 years. After a wonderful display on Saturday, sadly it was unable to fly on Sunday. Similarly the Lancaster also developed a problem overnight, forcing it to miss Sunday's performance, along with one of the Gnats, and a Yak. The hot humid weather taking its toll.

Havnt been for years went on the sunday hoping to see the vulcon but no show cant win them all ,well happy with the show am in the aviation industry and can understand how hard it must be to get them in the air weather perfect keep on going biggin hill .

Great pics, especially the Vulcan. I went today (28th) and the Vulcan failed to show!!! Gutted!

Thank you for posting these. I used to live in Biggin Hill for 11 years in Jail Lane and used to love going to the air show one day and watching some of the displays from my back garden. I now live in Lancashire so obviously don't get the opportunity to go anymore and I really miss it, especially seeing the red arrows. I will check your site again tomorrow for pictures from Sunday. Many thanks again.

Was there in 07, alas no Vulcan then, but loved it ! Was one of lifes truly great expetiences. Can't wait to return to the other side of the world again and experience the UK Air Show Season.
