Home Country: Bolivia, Ecuador, Columbia, Peru
Size: Body-length max. 7cm
Temperament: Defensive. Flees only, when strongly disturbed.
Type: Terrestrial, needs a hide away. Defences with urticating hair and poisoned bites.
Humidity: 70%-85%, water dish necessary.
Temperature: 23°C - 27°C during day, 3°C less in the night. Spider becomes nervous when temperature is too high
Enclosure: 40(w) x 40(d) x 30(h) cm or larger. A hideaway is already prepared.
General information: The spider is most of the time visible. It jumps sometimes when it catches prey. Only spiderlings have an orange abdomen with a black pattern looking like a conifer. Adult male are red and brown coloured, and have a dark brown abdomen. The whole body of females is dark brown.
