2008: June, Mexico for work (weekend in Miami, private)

Visting the Mexico City's subway and two cement plants... on the weekend, some sightseeing, such as the Teotihuacan site.

The earliest buildings at Teotihuacan date to about 200 BCE, and the largest pyramid, the Pyramid of the Sun, was completed by 100 CE.

More on Teotihuacan: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Teotihuacan

The pictures of the garden with different types of cactus (the one before the last, not the Four Seasons ones) shows at least 2 types I ate during my stay in Mexico... and the person I was traveling with told me only after it, of course...

The picture of the tires show how someone can really make good deals abroad... I have a really old British bike (Raleigh) and it had a flat tire a few weeks ago. Our house keeper took it to be repaired and she told me the guy of the store told her I would not be able to find those tires anymore, as the bike is almost a 100 years old, etc... So, I don't think the bike is so old, but anyway, I saw a very similar bike during the survey of the cement factory... I checked the size of the tire and asked Elisa (the house keeper) to send me the dimensions by short message. When in Mexico City I went downtown (warned many times about violence and prostitution... I saw the prostitution, but luckily no violence) and got the whole package of the picture (including the sattle for my "city-mountainbike (my old bike)" for only USD 20!!! (and I paid in Switzerland for the repairs of the flat tire USD 70!!!). Good deal (who does not like to make a good deal? what makes me happier though is to have found the parts...)!

The last picture are of the hotel Tides in Miami (Frederic invited me for the one night). Beautiful property.
