Ray
Thanks for sharing your photos they are wonderful! I especially love the windmills and
the the sunset pictures. I'm inspired to try some of those night pictures using some of
your tips. Take care Ris!

I viewed all of you galleries. The pictures are beautiful. Do you use a regular SLR camra? If so, what were your settings on the star trails and the fireworks? I have an old Ricoh. I've tried digital, but I've not had much luck. Did you design Your own web page? It's excellent!

Keith,
The bullseyes were 4.5 hours @F4 with the 16mm minolta. On Fuji 400. I also use the 24mm and 28mm minolta lense for these shots. The fireworks are taken with a tripod and a bulb setting with a flexable release. It takes several seconds to achieve the drags across the film. I also use a dark cloth across the lense to wait for another flare to shoot up and remove the cloth for the duration, then cover and wait for another flare. Sometimes I get 4 to 8 flares on one shot. The settings for the fireworks were Bulb @F.4 I try to get right under the cannons that shoot the flares, no further than 100 to 150' and use wide open lense.
What type of digital camera do you have Keith?? The most important thing to remember is your tripod, cable release, Bulb capable camera. YOu should do very well with the Ricoh camera, if you have a 24 to 28mm lense.
Good Hunting and lets see some of those photos

Hi Ray, thanks for your comments on my sky gallery. :-) In particular, thanks for the link to Atmospheric Optics. But most of all, thanks for leading me one step away from ignorance -- it's halo, not rainbow, that appears in my photo, is it not? :-)
I like your aurora photos -- all I can say is, I am jealous of you as well as all the other people who have the powerful equipment & who live in places where auroras are viewable! :-) But thanks for sharing the photos to all of us who can only appreciate the beauty of them in an indirect way -- well, better than not able to see them at all! I must drive up to Yukon or further north to Alaska someday...
best regards & cheers, Vera :-)
