45 yrs. ago my dad and his skin diving buddies would body surf at Maverick's. We spent every weekend at the coast and lived off abalone fish and french bread. I remember going down the road at the foot of Pillar Point. We camp at Half Moon Bay about 5 times a year, we live about 45 min. from the coast. I hope to make it to Mavericks' in 2005.

What a way to keep the faith while traped in Texas.. In 1991 I lived across from that wave in E Town.. You can leave the coast but the coast will never leave you!

Sorry Marcelo, I couldn't really get a view of the rescues because the boat was so far outside. I basically could see the drop and then the surfers disappeared. A couple times we drifted back but I didn't see any rescues then.

Sorry... No login password require... Very nice shots from the contest, thank you for sraring with us. I was working the Water Patrol there that day so I couldn`t realy wach the event. I wonder if you got some pics from the rescues we did that days?? Was a small day for Mavs but still plenty of drama and risc for the attlets. Thanks Marcelo

And this is where I take my kids tidepooling! Wonderful photography. Wish I'd been there. I can feel the cold, the wind and the swell. Glad I can't feel the break!!!

Great job from a deck of a boat, you're framing is perfect, looks like you can hold your horizon really well for perfect those surf pics.....Impressive!! when you think about that swell going under your boat............

Your pics are fantastic! I live in the SF Bay Area and couldn't get over to see the competition but I did get over today... unfortunately zero waves, but when I got home I Google surfed and found your pics on PBase. Now I can see the waves and the brave/crazy guys who go out and do this. I'm impressed. Beautiful shots! Thanks so much... I didn't miss it after all thanks to photographers such as yourself!
