Holland's Green Heart

In the west of Holland cities like Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Haarlem, Utrecht and Den Haag (The Hague) together form a big urbanisation which is called the "Randstad".
The distances between these cities in de Randstad are relatively small forming a kind of circle with a diameter of no more than 50 kilometers.

In the middle of that circle the area is relatively open and wide with green meadows, lakes and smaller villages. That's why it is called the GREEN HEART.
The pictures in this gallery offers a sense of these green places with typical Dutch landscapes. Take a look and enjoy.
