This gallery contains images from UMass Athletic events, mostly basketball. The action closeups are taken with my modern Nikon SLR cameras, the D3 and D300 now. The wider shots (you can tell them apart because the color is different) are from my old Leica with 50mm lens. The camera has to be set for the desired focus distance and depth of field, and you wait for images to come into view. For this reason many of the shots are in a similar place. These pictures have a gritty and softer feel to them as compared to modern day images from digital cameras.
