Violet-backed Starling (male)

Jurong Birdpark, Singapore

Scientific name: Cinnyricinclus leucogaster (Boddaert, 1783). Also, called 'Amethyst Starling'.

Distribution: North and Central Namibia, North and East Botswana, Zimbabwe, Mozambique. Also in South Africa in North Province, Gauteng, Mpumalanga,
KwaZulu-Natal and sporadically into East Cape as far south as Komga area. The young males come out of the nest looking like the hen. They do not
start to get adult plumage until they are at least one year old. Habitat: Savanna woodland and riverine forest, following fruiting cycles of trees.

Hello Patrick:
Nice shot... although I would have cropped it closer if possible. Plum-colored Starling is another name for this bird. Both are correct!

Beautiful Shot, Robert, i thought the name was plum coloured Starling, below please find link to my Starling i found in Kwa-Zulu Natal South Africa.
